Re: Oddball Laser question
Did you move the J2 jumper on the side of the laser driver to the input control position? Also, verify that the full power setting on the PWM spindle matches the full power output to your laser. For instance, if you issue a command like M3 S250 to get the maximum power from your laser, then the PWM ...

Re: CNC engraving machine spindle motor replacement
If all the specs are the same it should work. However, this is really a question for your VFD vendor to comfirm that the spindle is compatible with the VFD.

Re: External drivers
Things have changed since these original posts back in 2019 and 2020. Starting with version 15 of our main boards, we implemented the following changes that are pertinent to this conversation: The Buildbotics Controller began to accept 24-48 Volts. The step and direction signal levels increased from...

Re: Crazy offset when posting tool change paths
This is a problem that existed in the Buildbotics Controller some time ago. It was fixed quite some time ago.
Onefinity copied our software and hardware back in 2021 and went their own way. Apparently, they never fixed this problem.

Re: Bookworm (Wayland) + v1.0.4?
I’m sorry but the old hardware is not compatible with the RPI4.

Re: Bookworm (Wayland) + v1.0.4?
Version 2 only works with the latest controller hardware which runs on the RPi4. We have noticed that the local monitor is a bit sluggish on the new stuff. Joe is looking into it.

Re: Buildbotics and LightBurn
You should be able to configure the controller as a PWM spindle and set speed range to match the power range that is output by the lightburn software in the form of 'S' commands. I haven't used lightburn but am assuming that it puts out 'S' commands in the gcode to control intensity. You will also w...

Rotary axis video and blog post
I created a new video that shows my first cut with the rotary axis that I added to my homebuilt CNC machine. Check it out on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu4jt7yHWkU I also wrote a blog article that describes how to set it up. You can read the article here: https://buildbotics.com/cutt...

New video
Check out my new video about the Buildbotics CNC Controller. It's a short marketing video that stresses how easy it is to get a machine running with a BB Controller. It would be great if you could view it, like it, and share it. Here's the link on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7uY8B01AIo...
