Re: Control 'Un-homing' itself
Doug, Okay, all set up. I haven't noticed any issues yet so I think that fixed it, although I suspect should the internet briefly go down for an unrelated reason (i.e. not spotty service due to the internal antenna) I suspect the browser would still cause the control to reset once a connection to th...

Re: Control 'Un-homing' itself
Hey Doug,
Sorry, no update yet. The dongle showed up a little later than I was hoping and I've been on vacation as well this week. It's still in it's packaging but I'm planning to install it and do some testing once I'm back home.

Doug,
No worries at all, enjoy your vacation! I'm in no rush I'm really just tinkering with the mill. Dongle should arrive tomorrow, I'll keep you posted

Re: Control 'Un-homing' itself
Thanks Doug, Just picked up a WiFi dongle and a phone line filter so hopefully those will help a bit. Ideally a connection drop wouldn't cause a full reset but minimizing connection issues will help too. The good thing is it doesn't seem to reset the control if the machine is running, only when idle...

Re: How does probing work?
Doug, Yes, you are correct with that sequence. The #<_z> parameter reported is +1.4 (instead of -1.4). The only issue with your last post is that the machine is not moving to Z8.385 - I'm doing this move as a G53, so regardless of the fact that I set my WCS on top of the part it is always going to m...

Re: How does probing work?
Doug, Absolutely - the abridged version is below. Worth noting that I set Z = 0.0045" (my part zero) before running this, and this surface was approximately 1.4" above the height the tool stops after the G38.2. I'm not sure exactly what gcode pressing this button executes or if it matters much. cont...

Re: How does probing work?
Just wanted to post another update - the code above I believe should work, but there's an issue with the parameter #<_z>. This parameter returns a positive value in the BB control whether the position is positive or negative, and regardless of whether this is the intended functionality or not it mea...

Re: Control 'Un-homing' itself
One last update, I think I found the issue. The control seems to be resetting whenever internet connection is lost momentarily. Unfortunately I'm tied to connecting over WiFi since I have an older control with no display out and we don't have wired internet in our basement. Every once in a while our...

Parameters?
Hi guys, Been sort of pulling my hair out over the weekend trying to write a tool height probing routine, and then almost always ending up 2-3" off of my desired Z0 (Z DRO would read 2" instead of 0", for example when at the point that should have been zero after the change). Are certain LinuxCNC pa...

Re: Control 'Un-homing' itself
Okay, finally got a bug log for you. I'm also a little frustrated, as every time the control throws a warning (I'm trying to tweak my tool probe functionality and keep getting over-travel warnings when trying to run a program - probably worth its own forum post) but every time I get a warning it's l...
