Re: Sherline Spindle Tachometer & Speed Control
At present, the BB Controller does not have the ability to read (and make use of an analog input signal). The hardware is in place, but no software to use it. Systems using a Variable Frequency Drive with a Modbus RTU interface are able to provide speed feedback to the BB Controller. That informatio...

Re: Sherline Spindle Tachometer & Speed Control
Hi Fred, The Buildbotics Controller has a 0-10 Volt output available on the DB15 connector. I looked at the datasheet for KBIC speed controllers and it says that you can control the motor speed with a 0-9Volt isolated analog voltage. It says you should connect the 0-9Volt source between P2 and F-. T...

Re: 3D View and Zero Feed Rate
You must set the feed rate before executing a non-rapid move. Otherwise, the controller doesn’t know how fast to go during the move.

Re: 3D View and Zero Feed Rate
Making a non-rapid move with zero feed rate should cause an error because the command cannot be executed. It either doesn’t know how fast to go or it tries to move at zero speed.

Re: Heat Sink?
The heat sink lays on top of the raspberry pi as shown. The white tape on the bottom should hold it in place. It conducts heat but does not conduct electricity. Make sure that no exposed aluminum on the heat sink is in direct contact with any of the components. The white grease on the top is heat gr...

Re: Need help setting my soft-limits
Offsets are used to tell the controller where the work piece is located. You should place the work piece on the table, jog the bit into the x=0, y=0, z=0 position and then click the zero offsets button to tell the controller that is position (0,0,0). If you move the work piece, you will have to chan...

Re: Hello, and Limits
Just run a single wire for the active connection plus a single ground wire. And twist the ground wire with the active wire.
