For the (2) X Motors and the Y Motor I set the Drive Current to 2. I did this because the motor specs show 1amp/phase and this is a 2-phase motor. I left the idle at 0 (default). Yes, we weren't bringing out the monitor port to the back of the controller for the first few months. The port is available on the Raspberry PI and if you managed to get a hole through the back of the controller, you could plug directly into the RPI. I haven't heard much from you.
