Buildbotics taking preorders

As many of you know, we have been out of stock on our Buildbotics Controllers recently. I'm happy to report that we plan to have our stock replenished in October and are now taking pre-orders. Our new controllers will have a few hardware differences. They look the same, but have some exciting hardwa...

Re: 0-10v spindle control?

Well, the device that I referenced says it can run on voltages between 12 and 30 VDC. So, if you run your controller at 30 volts or less, you should be able to tap the power off of the Buildbotics power supply. If not, you will need a separate power supply, or a step down converter.

Re: Why use a buildbotics controller

Sorry for the slow response to this question. I don't really keep up on the capabilities of other controllers and I think our web pages at buildbotics.com give a fairly clear description of our product. You may be able to find the information you are looking for in the product reviews provided by ou...

Re: Recommended z touch probe

I recommend looking at this thread to get an idea of how to set up probing: https://forum.buildbotics.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=117 The BB controller can be set up to execute a series of commands each time a tool change is encountered. Alternatively, you can run a program that just does probing and se...

Re: 25-pin I/O Port

Sorry,

It looks like the right side of the image got cut off in our manual. From left to right, the top row of pins is 1 - 13 and the bottom row is pins 14 - 25.

Thanks for pointing this out. We will correct the manual.

Re: 0-10v spindle control?

We expect the next batch to be available in October. There are some fairly significant hardware changes/improvements. We will be making an announcement soon. The PWM to 0-10V converter that you referenced may not work. It is not clear that it will support a 3.3 Volt PWM signal. If you want to do thi...

I'm back from vacation. Do you have any updates on this issue? Did the WiFi dongle help?

Re: 0-10v spindle control?

Yes, you can connect a 3.3Volt PWM to 10 Volt converter to the pwm output on the DB25 connector. Here is a link to such a device that I have used. https://www.ebay.com/itm/124779665214?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-213727-13078-0&mkcid=2&itemid=124779665214&targetid=4580496732614415&device=c&mk...
