Lumenlab CNC

Post by mrecircuits » Thu May 26, 2022 7:04 am

Hi everyone! My name is Mike, and I’ve owned a Lumenlab M3 for a little over 11 years. It’s something I use just a few times a year, mainly cutting 2D control panels and simple things. I’m still using an 11 year old version of EMC2, and a desktop that’s just as old, running Ubuntu. The control side has always been super flaky, and I’ve been wanting to upgrade my setup for a long time. I drive the motors with a cheap TB6560 based board that I had to replace after 7 years with a new one.

I’m curious if there are any other Lumenlab owners using the Buildbotics? I assume they’re compatible, but want to make sure before ordering. The Lumenlab is a 3 axis mill with 4 motors. It has limit switches, but only on one side of each axis.

Thanks very much!
Mike
