Here are files for mounting NIMA 23 motors directly to the lead screw.
I removed the nylon gear and utilized the steel collet with an additional adapter collet mounted on to it. The bearings that go between the Axis plate and Collet adapter are 6005-2RS SKF.
The Collet adapter .250 through hole can be changed to fit the shaft of the motor being attached. I recommend a very close tolerance of concentricity between the bearing mount on the collet adapter, the motor though hole, and the motor indent on the axis plate. It would also be a good idea to keep a tight tolerance on the perpendicularity between the adapter collets face and the bearing mount surface.
Pay close attention to the mounting holes on the axis mounting plate. I found that the machine did not have a square bolt pattern and I adjusted positions to best fit the machine.
Everything is made of aluminum. I do have some concerns with the collet adapter being aluminum and would recommend steel instead.
