DynaMyte 2400 retrofit HowTo Video

I have successfully retrofitted two DynaMyte 2400 CNC Mills with Buildbotics CNC Controllers. There seems to be quite a bit of interest in this topic, so I created a How-To video to describe how it's done. The video is available on Youtube at the following link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcufoZNXkto

A script with the full text of the video along with images used in the video is attached.

I think the script will make a useful reference document for anyone that decides to duplicate my efforts.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

It was fun running it thru its paces today - I think this is gonna be a fantastic retrofit for all Dyna Myte mill owners out there!

Joe and I are still working out a few kinks. We should have it back to you soon.

Really, looking forward to getting my DM2400 running G-code. It's been a long time sitting idly in the corner. Time to dust it off again!

So I FINALLY got around to dusting off the DM2400, gutting the electronics & getting the BB controller wired in.

I'd purchased an ASUS VT168H touchscreen monitor, only to discover there is no "monitor" port on the back of my BB controller (serial # 000021) YIKES!

I REALLY like the one idea of a touchscreen monitor at the machine - would the HDMI be accessible inside the controller? Or...?

Thx
Mark

Back of my controller.

Guess I was too early to the party?

Yes, we weren't bringing out the monitor port to the back of the controller for the first few months. The port is available on the Raspberry PI and if you managed to get a hole through the back of the controller, you could plug directly into the RPI.

I haven't heard much from you. How is your system working out?

Yeah, I went ahead and open it up & got monitor connected inside. Only spent a few minutes on it, but when I turned everything on, I only saw the boot up sequence (lots of text scrolling) rather than the BB logo. It ended with a login prompt. Do I need to set something to get the interface to present on the monitor?

Making slow progress - but at least I am now back in the shop somewhat. BB controller had remained in its original shipping box until just a week ago! Yeah, 2-1/2 years, just to unbox it!!

You probably need to upgrade the software.

Hmm... It's running v0.4.14 - with a checkmark next to it on the web interface: this indicates "latest version" -- correct? Or were you referring to something else?
