PLC integration?

Post by eggy » Tue Jun 14, 2022 11:05 am

I Am using the Buildbotics controller to control a Laser that is retro fitted to an old CNC router. The end goal is to use the laser in conjunction with a 5 axis robot arm and a set of automated conveyor belts. This is going to be used in a College class about automated manufacturing. The rest of the system is currently hooked into a Rockwell PLC controller to do the automation. Is there any way that the buildbotics controller can be hooked up to the PLC so it is all integrated as a whole?

Hi eggy,

You could probably patch into the load 1, load 2, tool enable and tool direction control lines on the DB25 connector to perform simple triggering on the PLC.
