Curious what is new with V 4.8
What is new with v4.8?
Re: Curious what is new with V 4.8
0.4.8 is mostly bug fixes. Here's what's in it.
* A red thermometer display is shown if the Raspberry Pi gets too warm. In addition, the Raspberry Pi temperature is now displayed in the "Indicators" tab on the "Control Page.
* Version 0.4.6 introduced a problem that caused the Raspberry Pi to be excessively loaded. This was fixed in 0.4.8
* If the user reset the configuration multiple times consecutively, it would cause problems. This was fixed in 0.4.8.
* A problem was fixed that was associated with offsets after an M2 or M30 at the end of the program.
* A warning was generated after a G53 command. This was fixed.
* Offsets were not respected during canned cycle moves. This was fixed.
* The USB camera is disabled if the Raspberry Pi temperature reaches 80C.
* The CPU clock speed is scaled back if the Raspberry Pi gets too warm.
* The serial port driver on the Raspberry Pi was replaced to eliminate dropped data between the Raspberry Pi and the main board. Improvements were also made in the serial port communications on the main board.
* The g-code planner did not always terminate correctly. This was fixed.
* The logs were not rotating correctly. This was fixed.
Additionally, 0.4.9 is now out. It only has one change. The 6A limit on motor drive-current is now enforced.
Hope this helps,
Doug

Thanks Doug!
Re: Curious what is new with V 4.8
Notice there was an upgrade to 4.11,
Not sure what is new though, is their a changelog or somewhere to view what's been upgraded?
I don't think I saw any new features for the end user which I was hoping for.
Dedicated button probing for XYZ with tool offsets ect
Ability to remap the game controller handy to have a play pause button ect
Thanks
Mick

We maintain a change log at the following address:
https://github.com/buildbotics/bbctrl-f ... ANGELOG.md
It's a bit cryptic. One thing that you may notice is that the offsets displayed make more since. Previously, after running a program where probing was involved, the offsets would go to a strange state upon completion of the program. Now, the offsets established from probing are maintained.
We get a lot of requests for dedicated buttons of various types. We plan to implement that, but do not currently have it scheduled.
We would like our customers to do the upgrades when they become available.
