I am using the BB with a C6040 engraver outfitted with NEMA 23 steppers
I currently have the microsteps set to 32 and have had no issues, however I do a lot of fine engraving, and am interested to know if setting the steps higher would give me a higher level of precision.
Would love input.
Thanks!
Jeff

Re: Question regarding setting microsteps
Good question. The short answer is "Maybe". It depends a lot on the load and friction in the system This article seems to explain it fairly well.

Re: Question regarding setting microsteps
Jeff,
I have mine currently set at 128 micro/steps and are getting very good results engraving Aluminum using a diamond drag bit and a solid 0.65mm carbide cutter, is it any better than 32 micro/steps I couldn't say
