Slaved axis Lag

Post by bor MC » Thu Jan 14, 2021 6:14 pm

There might be an electronic "lag" issue on larger, tethered axies machines.

This is my second large format project with the buildbotics controller. I'm getting a consistent issue with the main (Y/switch side) axis homing 1/16" out of square with the joined (A/free side) on each. Both machines show the same results at every "homing command", regardless of being trued or squared prior.

Going to play with the settings page of each axis a bit to see if that helps.

Any other input is greatly appreciated!!

*Issue resolved*

Had extra pairs of eyes this morning helping to work out why this is happening. It appears that the slaved motor keeps moving a split second longer than the other when the switch is triggered.

A pretty simple work around was to add a hard stop on the slaved side, Ran a dozen or so homing cycles and tests; all came up square every time now.
