Huanyang VFD RS485 issue
Posted: Tue Nov 02, 2021 8:07 pm
Hello,
I just received two controllers to set up with two Mega V XLs. On the CNC I setup first, everything is running great. I set up the RS485 communication to the Huanyang VFD with no issues on that system. M3/M5 commands work as they should.
Fast forward to the second CNC. Everything works as it should, except the RS485 communication to the Huanyang VFD. In the Tool panel, it shows that it has Timedout. Double and triple checked the connections to the RS+ and RS- connections and on pin 13 and 14 on the DB25 breakout. Replaced the wiring to eliminate a break in the wire somewhere. Have gone through the VFD parameters multiple times. Going to have my wife walk through every parameter on the working system as I run through the parameters on the problem child to verify everything is identical. Both are 110v 1.5kw, so that makes it easy to run through all the parameters.
Spent the last 4 hours pouring through the manual, trying to look around the web, verifying the wiring of the two CNCs are the exact same in the VFD and DB25 breakout.
Any thoughts or advice on what to look for would be helpful.
Thank you,
Jason
