Extra Offsets

Post by Mick » Sat Jun 06, 2020 5:18 pm

Hi Doug,
A lot of the time I have 3 or even 4 jobs on the cnc table at any one time.
Having a pull down list of offsets would be handy.

Hi Mick,

Can you describe how you would like it to work?

Doesn't have to be to fancy,
I generally have a permanent jig for my coaster engraving JOB1
I have a sheet of bronze anodized aluminum JOB2
Then black anodized aluminum JOB3
And a general position for "other" jobs JOB4

Be handy to set each XY 0 for each JOB and save it and when I need to move to say JOB3 I can just home all JOB3 rather than going through the process of setting each XY0 each time

Not sure if its easier to have a pull down list or just add 3 more offsets to the table we have now?

Would this be a job for macros? When we get them implemented, you could make a button for each offset. They would contain the gcode to go to the 0,0 location for each offset and then set the offsets to that location. Believe it or not, we are actually working on implementing macros.

Yes that will work
Hopefully there will be a minimum of say 6? buttons we can configure to our liking? Be good to also name the buttons if that's possible?

More the better really
1 Offset
2 Offset
3 Offset
4 probe Z only
5 Probe XYZ
6 Spare
7
8
9
10

Looking forward to the next release

Thanks Doug for all your hard work, the controller just gets better, Ive just purchased a V70 VFD and its great that its now in the drop down list.

I noticed that the V70 VFD has a feature called vector control. Does this provide better low end torque? I can stop my spindle with my fingers when it is running at very low speeds. I have a Huanyang VFD.
