Microscope camera causing errors on start up.
I installed a microscope camera on my CNC and when I turn on the BB unit I get an error and the unit has issues running properly. I had a conversation with Doug and he explained that the camera has a voltage surge on startup that is causing the issue. I am hoping that we can figure a workaround or a solution to this issue that doesn’t include having to unplug the camera before startup and then plugging it back in every time. I am open to suggestions. I love the BB unit it runs great and is just what my cnc’s needed. I just can’t see a problem without trying to solve it.

I found an inline usb switch that should solve the issue.

Yes Cary, If the switch remains disconnected while the controller is booting it and then is enabled it after the controller has booted, it should fix it.
BTW, I believe this is an issue with the Raspberry PI more than the specific camera.
Another thing you might consider is having the camera completely separate from the BB Controller. If your camera can present a stream that can be viewed from a web browser, you could simply open the view to the camera in another tab.
